Speech Plagiarism

Good morning, everyone , first of all  let us offer thanks for the presence of Allah SWT because of His mercy we can gather in this place in good health. Also for all of you, my beloved friend,  I thank you for giving the opportunity for me to deliver a speech in front of you.

Hello, My Name is Alyaa Nur Azizah , I’m from 3SA03 Gunadarma University.

My speech is talked about, Plagiarism. I'm sure all of you already know  What plagiarism is. Am i right yes? So, plagiarism is one things thats always happends when we are want to write, such as; paper, essay, journal, scientific writing or post something. But as we have know In this modern era, we can access anything through the sophistication of existing technology. Such as looking for some ideas, learning about something we have never known before, looking for information etc. But there is also a negative side from the technological sophistication that exists. Plagiarism is one of the negative side. Many people usually copy anything without telling the source they copy. this can be a bad habit, because they are dishonest. Even though we know that the idea is hard to come by. but not infrequently there are still those who like to do it. 

According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, to "plagiarize" means:  "To steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own”  “To use (another's production) without crediting the source” “To commit literary theft” “To present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source."

In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud.

We can find forms of plagiarism on many existing blogs. with the same content, the same writing without any sources of information they have written on their blog.

You must put the quotation marks and input the credit of the source, when you copy others people's writing.this step known as “Quoting” this is allowed, and not including plagiarism. because you are use quotation marks and also the name of experts. But if you did not put the credit of the source and not using quotation mark its called plagiarism.  Paraphrasing is recommended to avoid plagiarism. Paraphrasing is take ideas and then you rewrite them into your own words. quotes,and not exactly using the same words as author or expert’s work. Use your own language is better than used other’s.

 

There are many causes of plagiarism, first because the one who copying other's writing, is being lazy, or she or he wants to simple, "instant' people or maybe because of deadline.

By reading a lot of books, will help us to avoid plagiarism. Or at least using your own language, is better rhan copying. I know it is not easy to get rid of the habit of copying writing, or taking one's ideas, (plagiarism) when we are used to doing it.

Indonesia is a state of law, and has been written in constitution No.19 of 2002 about plagiarism and copyright. people who still doing plagiarism intentionally will get a sanction in accordance with applicable laws. Student who doing plagiarism would be get a sanctions like; direct or indirect warning, drop out, moreover cancellation of diploma.This is has become a serious thing. 

I repeat, yes it’s not easy. But if we try it, we can. Better try than never. We have to appreciate others ideas, because sometimes ide hard to find. By not copying (plagiarism) again, it means that we had appreciate the ideas that have been created by someone.

I will try, and together we say good bye to our bad habits which is plagiarism. I hope my speech can make us aware of plagiarism, which still happens frequently. I'm sorry, if there are many mistakes in delivering this speech. Thank you for your attention, have a good day.
