On this post we as a group wanna tell you guys about our experienced going to Setu Babakan.
Setu
Babakan is located in Srengseng Sawah, sub‐district of Jagakarsa South Jakarta. This site is considered
as a part of the Betawi Cultural Village which is devoted to the preservaon
oh the indigenous
Betawi Culture.
The Setu Babakan lake has an area of 32 hectares in which the water flows in from
the ciliwung river. All around the lake can be found a wide variety of plants and plant fruits. Plants and fruit grown
around the lake is very diverse, including Rambutan, Mango, Pandan, Palm, Jamblang, Melinjo,
Santol, Guava, Cimpedak, Nangka, Jengkol etc.
On the lake there is also a swan boat rides that are rented to tourists who want to get around in the
middle of the lake. Swan boat rides can be ridden for 2 people. Ticket price is quite cheap for adults
Rp. 7.500 and for children Rp. 5.000.
Around the lake are also a lot of sellers offering a wide variety of food and beverages.
They are were
Setu Babakan Betawi is a typical food such as Arum Manis, Kerak Telor (Egg Crust), Toge Goreng, Nasi
Uduk, Rujak Bebek, Nasi Ulam, Meatballs etc. The beverages are common in peddling in Setu
Babakan namely Bir Pletok, Es Potong, Ice Durian, etc.
We met someone at setu babakan and we interviewed him. His name is Madi, Madi is an employee
at Setu Babakan. He usually take care of the Stage that usually using by some people there to
perform some dance and etc. Madi tell us that in the holiday season theres so many people that
came to Setu Babakan with their family to have a quality me
with their loved ones, People that
usually cme to Setu Babakan is kids with their parents, but somemes
the teenagers come to Setu
Babakan to see a lake, eat some food at the edge of the lake with their friends.
When we want to go to setu babakan there is no price that we have to pay which is free entry. The
opening hours is Sunday – Saturday from 08:00 AM to 18:00 PM. You can see the scedule of some
Betawi Culture such as Gambang Keromong, Topeng Dance, Marawis, Tanjidor and etc. You can see the
scedule near the performing stage. Unluckyly when we get there there is no performing art at there,
so we just stroll around the lake and see the view. Madi tell us there’s a Museum about 2 km from the place that people usually perform some
dance, etc and there are tradional
clothes and tradional
house. But to enter it we
must have a license.
